2008-born goaltender Matthew Humphries is making a significant jump in his development, transitioning from the Aurora Tigers to the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League.
Humphries showed steady progression at the junior level, posting a 3.82 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage over 25 games during the 2024–25 season with Aurora, before improving those numbers to a 3.55 GAA and .911 save percentage in 19 appearances in 2025–26. He also gained valuable OHL experience with the Niagara IceDogs, appearing in 13 games in 2024–25 and one game this season, before coming back down to the Tigers. Since joining the Oshawa Generals, Humphries has taken a noticeable step forward, recording a strong 2.62 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage across 13 games. In the recent NHL Central Scouting Mid-Season Rankings, he ranked 34th among North American goalies, showing his improvement.
