Ilir has both a playing Junior/University career as well as an extensive coaching background to the Aurora Tigers. He brings 30 years of experience in skill development, coaching and leading hockey programs across AAA, OMHA, GTHL, Junior A, and hockey operations environments. His background combines high-performance player development, coaching and organizational leadership, with a strong focus on building competitive, accountable cultures.
He spent the past 9 years within the York Simcoe Express association coaching the 2002 age group to two OMHA Championships at U15 and U16. He then took on GM duties within the organization but his passion was to be back behind the bench. This past year, he guided the U16 YSE team to a silver medal at the OMHA Championship Final and birth at the OHL Cup.
